Nurses
Angela McNellan DipAVN(Surg) RVN
I trained originally at the practice and qualified in 1998. From here I went onto work at Glasgow Veterinary School where I studied towards my diploma in advanced surgical nursing. From here I gained further experience working at the PDSA. In 2003 I returned to Glenbrae as Head nurse. I share my home with my husband, a son and daughter and three dogs which always keeps me busy.
Arlene Butcher BSc(Hons) RVN
I qualified in June 2008 with a BSc(Hons) in Veterinary Nursing. I had trained with Glenbrae throughout my course and I returned in 2010 as Deputy Head Nurse. I live with my two cats Lucy and Sophie who keep me very busy.
Laura Irving RVN
I joined Glenbrae in August 2003 as a trainee and after being trained by our great team became a registered vet nurse in 2006. I am currently training to support and coach student nurses to help them reach their qualifications as I did. In practice I am interested in Animal holistic care and would enjoy training further in this field. In my spare time I enjoy taking my crazy Border Terrier Oz to the beach and investigating new lands.
Laura McKinnon RVN
I joined the practice May 2010 after studying Veterinary Nursing, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree. In September 2010 I started a further degree continuing my studies in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at Glasgow Vet School. I live with my Great Dane puppy Kalo, two mischievous cats Leo and Noa and partner Gavin. In my spare time when not studying I enjoy horse riding & spending time with friends and family. I will be happy to answer questions and provide advice on your pets' health and well-being with main interests including medicine, surgery and giant breed dogs.
Nikki Forbes RVN
I joined Glenbrae in 2001 as a trainee Veterinary Nurse and completed my nursing training in 2004. I am always keen to expand on my skills and have recently undertaken the BVNA Certificate in Veterinary Dentistry course. I am always on hand should you need help or advice on how to keep your pets' oral hygiene in tip top condition. When I'm not working I share my home with two mischievous but gorgeous cats.
Tracy Jones RVN
I joined the practice in May 1990, not long after the practice opened and qualified in 1998. It has been nice watching the practice grow and change over the years. I am interested in small furries and wildlife. I have completed numerous nutrition courses and in 2008 I completed an open learning course "offering support in pet bereavement". I share my home with my husband, 2 daughters, two dogs and two guinea pigs. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, walking and attending training classes with my Todd, who to everyone’s surprise recently won two competitions at advance level. I can be seen in this photo with my dogs Todd and Ruby.
Lynn Byford RVN
I qualified in 2002, and am the practice behaviouralist having completed 6 behaviour modules covering common cat and dog complaints. I am always keen to help owners with problem pets, achieving outstanding results. My home would not be complete without my 2 dogs, Mac and Caiomhe (seen with me in this photo), Alfie the cat, 2 teenagers and a husband. Outside of work I enjoy hillwalking, cycling and cooking for friends and family.
