Dental disease is very common and results from build up of tartar which leads to dental pain or premature loose teeth. Prevention depends on regular brushing and/or other plaque control methods.
We offer dental scaling and polishing (similar to human techniques) to maintain your pet's dental health using the most up-to-date equipment available. A large number of pets suffer from serious dental disease which could easily be avoided by regular check-ups. Click to find out more about dental disease in cats and dogs.
Behavioural/firework clinics
Both these clinics are run by Lynn, one of our nurses. The first is for desensitisation to the noises from fireworks, which cause problems for many dogs and their owners. The behavioural clinic is intended for clients who have any worries or concerns regarding their pet’s behaviour or training (however trivial they may seem).
Acupuncture
We are now able to offer acupuncture treatment for your pet in addition to other complementary therapies such as homoeopathy. Acupuncture is particularly useful for musculo-skeletal conditions including arthritis, but can also be used in conditions such as urinary incontinence, chronic bowel complaints and even some skin conditions. It is particularly helpful in the older patient where other forms of medication may not be well tolerated. Acupuncture can be preformed safely in dogs, cats and rabbits as most animals tolerate the use of needles well. Treatment is usually given once weekly for a few weeks and improvement can often be seen within a few days.
