Health check

Whether your pet is sick, in for a routine check or you simply have a concern

Our great team are on hand to give your pet a full health check.

This check is completed by the vet surgeon* and includes:

  • Listening to your pets heart and lungs.
  • Checking circulation (gum colour).
  • Looking in ears, eyes and mouth.
  • Abdominal palpation.
  • Mobility/ Joint check
  • Skin check for paracites, allergies, bacterial infections, etc.
  • Temperature

You will also be asked a few questions in relation to your pets general health at home and what lead to the appointment, such as:

  • Any signs of lethargy or coughing
  • Vomiting or diarrhoea
  • Increased/ decreased drinking/ urinating or eating
  • Mobility at home

*If you have minor concerns regarding you pet you may arrange a nurse health check (e.g. puppy/ kitten monthly check ups). This does not include checks for abnormalities such as heart checks, these will always be referred to the vet.

The nurse may also triage your sick or injured pet prior to the vets assesment to ensure your pet is treated as efficiently as possible.
