Veterinary Surgeon Clinical Director
I qualified from Glasgow Veterinary School in 2002. After graduation I worked for four years in mixed practice before joining Glenbrae in 2006 to become a 100% small animal clinician. I have a keen interest in pain management and anaesthesia and hope to enrol in an advanced certificate in this area in the near future. At home my four children keep me busy and entertained.

Senior Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified from Glasgow Vet School in 1983 and founded Glenbrae in 1990 after several years in mixed practice. Throughout my career I have been interested in using an integrated approach to health and disease treating all patients as individuals. I am a registered specialist in Homeopathy and also use Acupuncture and Low Level Laser treatment. I also have a keen interest in animal nutrition
I have a number of animals at home including 2 homebred Labradoodles, Kira and Reilly and a young Labrador Rhu. I can be seen in this photo with my Birman cat Frodo who keeps the dogs in their place! I also breed competition horses and have a small herd of Dexter cows.

I am Originally from Derbyshire and moved to Scotland in 2010 to study at the Glasgow Vet School. After I graduated in 2015 I worked in Dundee for a couple of years before moving back to Glasgow. I have a diabetic cat named Polly.
You will see me working at the Bearsden and Dumbarton clinics.

I graduated from Glasgow University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012, and since qualifying have enjoyed every minute of being a small animal veterinary surgeon. I have a keen interest in small animal soft tissue surgery and dentistry. In 2019, I completed a RCVS certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice, with a bias towards soft tissue surgery and emergency and critical care. I am trained in the art of laparoscopy, which is an exciting new service I have set up at the Bearsden Clinic.
I have one dog, a cheeky Cockapoo called Olive, and two gorgeous cats called Leonardo and Sebastian. When I’m not working, I enjoy going long walks with Olive up hills and through the wilderness.

JANICE KRISHNAN BVM&S MRCVS

I always knew that I wanted to work with animals. I completed my bachelors degree in Zoology and moved to New Zealand to pursue my postgraduate studies in Animal Science at Massey University. I then moved to the UK in 2014 to accomplish my longstanding dream of becoming a veterinarian which became a reality in 2019 when I graduated from the Royal (dick) school of veterinary studies, University of Edinburgh. I joined the amazing Glenbrae team shortly after as a newly qualified vet. The team are very supportive, helpful and play a positive role in my development as a vet. I thoroughly enjoy my job as no day is the same as the other. My keen interest lies in soft tissue surgery as well as emergency & critical care. I enjoy nature trails, painting, yoga and bit of salsa dancing during my spare time to maintain a good work-life balance.

Susan Christie BVMS MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
I qualified from Glasgow Vet School in 2019. After graduating, I worked in a small animal practice in Liverpool, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I soon found my way back to Glasgow, joining the Glenbrae team in July. I have found the team to be very supportive and caring. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine but my main interests are in diagnostic imaging and surgery.
Outside of work, I enjoy meeting up with friends, going to live concerts and sports events. I have a cocker spaniel at home called Ronan.

KIRSTY WILSON BVM&S MRCVS

I moved from Torrance to Edinburgh to complete my veterinary training at Edinburgh University. After graduating from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in June 2020, I moved back to the west coast to join the Glenbrae team in October. I enjoy all aspects of general practice, with a keen interest in surgery. Everyone at Glenbrae has been really supportive and made me feel part of the team straightaway. In my spare time I enjoy playing football, catching up with friends and chilling with my cat Smudge!

Susan Spence BVMS MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon - Ultrasonographer
I completed a Residency in Diagnostic Imaging at Glasgow vet school in 1995. Since then I have worked in several practices providing an Ultrasound referral service. I have work at Glenbrae vets Bearsden since 2004 one or two days per week. At home I have 2 dogs ( a black + a chocolate Labrador) and a ginger cat.

Clare Knottenbelt BVSc MSc DSAM MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon - Oncologist
Clare graduated from the University of Bristol in 1994, and worked for a year in mixed practice, before starting her specialist training in small animal medicine at the University of Edinburgh’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. She obtained the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Medicine in 1999 as well as a Masters in Transfusion medicine. Clare worked as a clinician at the University of Glasgow from 2000 and was awarded a personal Professorship in Small Animal Medicine and Oncology in 2010. She was Clinical Director of the University of Glasgow’s Small Animal Hospital for 6 years and worked within the University’s Oncology service for 11 years before leaving to establish Hawk and Dove. Clare now offers a referral service within our practice for our clients and local practices

Head Veterinary Nurse
I qualified in June 2008 with a BSc(Hons) in Veterinary Nursing. I had trained with Glenbrae throughout my course and I returned in 2010 as Deputy Head Nurse. I enjoy all aspects of Veterinary Nursing but have a keen interest in surgical nursing. My role in 2017 changed and I am now the Head Nurse, which keeps me very busy with our ever expanding vet clinic. I love spending time with my family when I am not at work especially when the weather permits outdoor adventures.

I joined Glenbrae in August 2003 as a trainee and after being trained by our great team I became a registered vet nurse in 2006. I am currently a clinical coach within the practice, training student nurses to help them reach their qualifications as I did. I have a BSAVA merit award in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation and have a keen interest in radiography and anaesthesia.

I graduated with a distinction in HND Veterinary Nursing from SRUC Barony Campus in 2016. I have previously done a BSC (Hons) Degree in Herbal Medicine in Glasgow, graduating in 2008. I am interested in holistic medicine, and am very happy to be apart of the Glenbrae team.

I joined the Glenbrae team in January 2017 after studying veterinary nursing at SRUC Oatridge College, and completing placement at Glasgow Small Animal Hospital. You can see me at both the Bearsden and Dumbarton clinics. I have a BSAVA Merit Award in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, and have an interest in surgery. In my spare time I love exploring new walks, especially beaches, with my Dalmatian Nevis. I also enjoy creating problem solving actives for my 2 rabbits, Holly and Molly.

Hi, my name’s Cat! I have recently started working at Glenbrae Vets and it has been brilliant getting to know the wonderful team! Every day at Glenbrae is a new learning experience, I am also a clinical coach which means I assist with the training of our student veterinary nurses which I love. I have always had an interest in feline diseases and treatments, in 2016 I completed an International Society of Feline Medicine certificate in Feline Friendly Medicine which was incredible to do. I have cats, 6year old Pirate who I handreared from 2wks old and 3year old Zuma who I fostered for a local cat charity from 9wks old and couldn’t bear to part with! I am cat crazy at work and at home!! I love being at Glenbrae and I look forward to many more years here so I look forward to getting to know you all better!

In my spare time I love to walk , go to the gym and socialise with friends. I also do cat sitting for people when they are on holiday. My spare time is spent with my husband and young daughter Lucy.

I joined the Glenbrae team in January 2013 as a Client Care Advisor and I split my time between the Bearsden and Dumbarton practices. For the past 2 years I have been spending some of my time working in the main office assisting Laura Snowdon.
I have a horse called Gally which takes up a lot of my spare time. I also have a Jack Russell Terrier called Evie and enjoy taking her to agility and training class.

I joined the Glenbrae team in 2010. I was initially based only at Dumbarton but now work between our clinics at Bearsden and Dumbarton. When I am not at reception cuddling all the animals I am usually doing all the insurance claims for both of these clinics, and other administration tasks.

I moved down from the Highlands in 2018. I love working at Glenbrae and meeting all the different pets and their owners and if i’m not getting cuddles from the animals here I’m cuddling pups at a local kennels I help out at. I enjoy the outdoors and live a busy lifestyle with my boyfreind looking after our two young boys, and we are always on some outdoor adventure with them.
