5 “Silent” Killers of Cats

Did you know that cats can have a hyperactive thyroid gland? Also known as hyperthyroidism, it’s a fairly common condition in older cats. In fact, the vast majority of affected cats are older than 10 years of age. Most of the time, the reason is either a benign tumor...

How My Former Puppy Mill Dog Changed All of My Pet Health Assumptions

I’m the first to admit that I tend to go a little overboard for my pet’s care. After all, as a life-long animal advocate, I’ve seen too much inhumanity, too much pain, too much suffering put on these animals not to want to reverse that in my own home. I’ve also seen...

Do Dogs Dream?

Whether or not dogs dream isn’t known with scientific certainty, but it sure is difficult to imagine that they don’t. We’ve all watched our dogs demonstrate behaviors in their sleep that resemble what they do in a fully awake state. Paddling legs, whining, growling,...

Professional, compassionate, kind, friendly and totally competent in conventional and holistic veterinary medicine. I wouldn’t go anywhere else with my pet, even though I have to drive 45-50 minutes to this clinic – I would do it a 100 times x

We have been bringing our babies to Glenbrae for 13+ years and the staff are the most special people ever. From the moment you enter the happy caring atmosphere hits you and calms you down if you have a sick pet. Everyone works so hard and they have so much to deal with when we bring in our sick babies and keep us calm and reassuring words of comfort. Please take a bow every single member of staff and know how much you mean to us #bestvetpractice

My cat O’Malley has been going to this clinic for over a year and has recently had some tummy problems. I must say that all the staff in the clinic are absolutely amazing and give the best advice and care. They are so friendly and patient and take the time to answer any questions that you have about your pet.

  • We can’t recommend Wendy and her team highly enough. We took our rescue dog Hannah to Wendy when she was extremely poorly and thanks to the wonderful care and treatment, both holistic and conventional Hannah’s life was saved. She will be 12 soon and is doing brilliantly ❤️.

Recently we took our other rescue dog Emma, who is extremely nervous to have an operation. All the staff were amazing at accommodating her and alleviating her fears.

They handled this fantastically and minimised her stress and what a wonderful job they did with the operation on her eye.

It’s most definitely worth the 25 mile round trip.

We have taken all our dogs to this vet for many years now. Yesterday our beautiful Chocolate Labrador Ben had clearly reached the stage where he could go on no longer. I called the vet and although I was almost incoherent crying, the nurse on reception was able to gently talk me through things and arrange for Debbie to come to the House. Debbie and the nurse arrived later and agreed there was only one way to go now. I can honestly say the service provided was just amazing. Ben was gently helped on his way in the most loving way with no stress or briskness. We were all able to cuddle him and tell him how loved he was and laugh through our tears about some of his previous visits to see Debbie. I could never have taken him to the surgery at this point and am so glad this was a option for us. Thanks to everybody involved in Bens care over the last wee while. You really are a great team. ❤️

I have only been attending Glenbrae Vets for a few months and always found them friendly and very helpful. However ... I phoned last night at 6.10pm to ask if it was okay to give my dog anti-histimine as he was covered with a red rash. I was told that they would like to see him at the clinic but I would be liable for an 'out of hours' charge of £84 ... AT 6.10pm. I have no problem with providing care for my dog and necessary fees, but this isn't a late or early time and any previous vet's that I have visited have usually had a surgery until 7pm at night! I am afraid that I will be taking Archie elsewhere ... I cannot afford an additional £84 each time I visit the vet 'after hours'!

Very friendly staff and vets and more importantly our dog actually likes being there due to how much fuss they make of him.
